Who We Are

Weekend Trip is a Producer/DJ duo comprised of musical talents Lauren Nikohl and Jeff Landby. The two have been a couple since 2010. This pair of high school sweethearts met in the Mounds View High School speech team, and performed together in various musical theatre productions.

Both artists grew up with heavy musical backgrounds: Jeff performed in the Minnesota Boy Choir for 12 years, and started playing the violin and guitar at a young age. Lauren began singing, writing songs, and playing guitar and piano, all before age 10.

In 2015, they moved to Los Angeles together so Lauren could finish her Bachelor's degree at the University of Southern California, and pursue her music industry dreams as a solo artist.

Our Vision

After a few years of living in Los Angeles, Jeff and Lauren had fallen in love with the electronic music scene, frequenting underground house and techno warehouse parties with their friends. One of their other favorite activities became short trips out to beautiful SoCal locations such as Joshua Tree, Big Bear, or Sequoia National Forest. Whether with friends or by themselves, they would enjoy taking nature hikes, getting trippy with the help of plant medicines, and partying to sets put on by either DJ friends or a YouTube channel called "Cercle" that would produce gorgeous films of some of their favorite electronic artists.

These "trips" were liberating, healing, and cherished by the couple. Thus the name "Weekend Trip" was born circa 2020, as the two became inspired to venture into the world of house and techno themselves.

The vision of Weekend Trip is to bring the good vibes of these experiences to the rest of the world through their groovy musical journeys paired with beautiful nature settings.
